Composite Filling After Care Instructions

Composite Filling After Care Instructions

Your lips, teeth and tongue may be numb for several hours after the filling from the anesthetic used. Please avoid chewing until the numbness has worn off to avoid burning or biting your tongue or lip while still numb.

If needed, over the counter pain medications like Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Motrin or Advil can be used to help with tenderness or discomfort and should be used as directed by the manufacturer.

It is normal to have some heat/cold sensitivity for a few weeks after the filling and it should subside over the next few days.

The fillings are hardened before you leave the office.

You are able to continue brushing and flossing your teeth like normal after the filling.
